Sisterhood is a special bond, even more affectionate than brotherhood I guess. It was made quite clear that the bottom bunk had to be wider to be sharing the space together – chatting, sleepovers etc.
The bottom bunk is sized to fit a double mattress (78″ L x 48″ W) and the top bunk fits a single (78″ L x 36″). The sturdy H-frame construction combined with the ladder fixed to the frame creates a monolith structure that is robust. The ladder is inclined at a gentle slope to allow for easy climbing up.
Oh! also, the bed is low enough for Ozzy to climb onto easily, but high enough for the iRobot to get in underneath to clean up as well!
The back slats was the mom’s idea – it creates a warm cabin-like feel at the bottom. And since it is pinewood, the slats can be used to pin trinkets, photos etc, with just thumbtacks.
Made of beechwood for the entire frame, slats in pinewood. Finished with hard-wax oil and furniture wax
